Excellent material! I took this course during the corona period - it was a bad time for me. I had to close down my business and I didn't know if I would recover financially. information in this course helped me through the tough times. And even after it helped me maintain my focus. This is way more than "just stay positive" - it is solid information and advice on how small adjustments can lead to big improvements. I made improvements in my business as well as in my family life.

I really enjoyed this course! Professor Santos successfully manages to deliver clear, useful, and interesting information throughout the course. The methodologies used and all the research findings are great resources to make the course more impactful. I took the course because it called my attention and actually found myself motivated enough to complete it and practice a lot of the tools acquired through the lectures. I am grateful for this course and definitely recommend it.

I think it's a really practical course for everyone. The examples/studies/readings featured may be dated, but it doesn't lessen the value of the course for people; it's a classic reminder of appreciating, realizing, and living the basics. Much like what we're experiencing during this pandemic, it a good measure in reminding you to be grounded and that happiness and worth aren't always tied to money and status (they do help in being/staying comfortable, no argument about that).

I really really enjoyed and loved this course. I devoured (can you even say that?!) the lessons, i couldn't get enough. Super interesting material and insights. It made me realize that was i was already doing on my own - the gratitude, the exercise- had a scientific point. I learned other curious tools like the savoring one. With the tests i got to understand my character strenghts and also how to use them.

Thank you very much for having done this course!

I found this course extremely informative especially during lockdown . It helped me really think about rewireing my life and the benefits this brings with some effort. I found that gratitude improved my overall outlook on life and discovered how much social interaction was important in lifting my mood. I also found how the Woop technique can increase possibilities in my life for the future. Thank you Professor Santos for delivering this course and enabling me to participate.

This course could not have come at a better time in my life. It helped me to focus on the daily practices that would help improve my sense of well-being and happiness during this quarantine. Laurie Santos is a wonderful professor and does a fantastic job explaining what the studies show about happiness habits. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that this course changed my life! I wish I could take 10 more classes with Professor Santos! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Very well delivered by Laurie Santos, easy to follow, I learned A LOT in a short period of time. The skills are very applicable to every day life. As a result of doing this course, I feel much happier, settled and appreciative since I started putting into practice the techniques explained: Meditation, Sleep, Diet, High Quality Connections, Acts of Kindness and Gratitude and Savouring. Discovering my key character skills was an eye opening! II highly recommend this course!

This by far the best and the toughest course I have ever done. It is a life changer. Much depends of course how you journey it, what you want out of it, but if so willing, you can peel out from deep, from shadows and darkest corners, if you dare to push the envelope. But methods are there for revival and heal, and set for a new horizon.

My happiness level was around 2.38 when I started, and at the end of the course it was 4.5 (of 5). It is a huge difference. A different man.

It was truly a life-changing experience. I am so grateful that I stumbled upon this course because I know that I am not the same person I was when I started. All these techniques and practicing good habits bled into my entire life. I actually talk to everyone about this course and I want the entire world to learn the tools we learned. It is such a blessing. Dr. Laurie Santos, you are incredible!!!! I also started listening to your podcast, The Happiness Lab. It is excellent!

All in all a wonderful course!

One constructive criticism: The idea that all decisions are motivated purely by a desire to maximize happiness is a very first-world attitude. Necessity, lack of choice, and circumstances play a huge role in people's lives, to say nothing of peoples' un-justified desires and pure will. Happiness maximization seems a little bit disingenuous or even naive -- it could even be argued that happiness and well-being are not necessarily the same thing.

Thank you SO much Yale for being able to offer this wonderful course during these strange times. You have had a positive impact on improving the lives of those of us luck enough to be part of this course. Also, thank you Laurie Santos, for guiding us through this wonderful journey. I finish this 10 week process feeling so much better about my life, having a better understanding on what truly matters with scientific proof, and having an overall better prospect on the future.

So happy to have achieved this Yale University certification through Coursera. I decided to take this course, after the coronavirus pandemic started in the United States, to help me learn new skills on Well-Being. I am happy to share that due to this course and the techniques that I have learned, I am experiencing personal growth and much more happiness, even during these difficult times. It is never too late to learn and never too late to work on your mind, heart and soul.

One of the best courses I have taken. I love the variety of learning tools: lecture videos, readings, quizzes, Q&A videos, "Rewirement" activities to complete, interview videos, optional content including YouTube videos, research papers to read, book recommendations. I appreciate that the course is science-based and action-oriented. The activities move it from head-knowledge to life transformation. My happiness and wellbeing definitely improved, as verified by two surveys.

This course is transformative. In our Western culture, we prioritize things that do not make us happier and we ignore the things that truly do make us happy. Learning what to focus on in life for better well-being has meant a behaviour and lifestyle shift for me. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this course! Every high school student should take the course and be able to list off the top of their head the 5 things that contribute to well-being. We need to turn our culture around!

I was told it was inspirational and signed up without much thought about that but when you start doing the course and understand the problems that modern life is overwhelming us with then it becomes clear that the things you thought you knew are definately right. You will change your life immediately. Its mind bending stuff. I love wooping, gratitude, turning off social media to avoid referencing and diarising commitments to change or new strategies to get them in place.

Amazingly designed course, very compelling teacher and lectures, very practical, and honestly, life changing . I 100% reccommend taking this course to everyone wanting to improve their overall well-being, build the habits that will ACTUALLY make them happier, understand WHY they're going to make you happy, and enjoy the benefits of what it's taught even while taking the course due to the weekly rewierement challenges. Simply amazing! Thanks for this wonderful experience!

This course was fantastic. Taking this class during a global pandemic was so impactful. It really helped me refocus and find my center during this stressful time. I feel like I had the tools (and even maybe the knowledge) but putting things into practice and having research based facts to support it, makes a huge difference! This class is easily completed with a full schedule as there is only about 2 hours of work a week. Would definitely reccommend this class to anyone!

EXCELENTE. DARNOS CUENTA DE QUE EL CAMINO DE LA FELICIDAD TOMA UNA RUTA DIFERENTE CUANDO ES OBSERVADO DESDE LA PERSPECTIVA DE LA PSICOLOGÍA POSITIVA Y ANALIZADO POR NOSOTROS MISMOS ES FUERTE. TODOS BUSCAMOS LA FELICIDAD PERO LA BÚSQUEDA NO ES PARTE DEL PROGRESO, EL INICIARLA Y DARTE CUENTA DE QUE NO ES POR DONDE TUS PASOS IBAN Y TENER EL CORAJE DE REGRESAR Y RETOMAR EL CAMINO ADECUADO ES LO IMPORTANTE Y MÁS MARAVILLOSO. GRACIAS POR ENSEÑARNOS DE LA FORMA EN QUE LO HACEN.

It is quite simple:

This is more important than anything else I have ever learned at school... Ok, together with learning how to read and count.

Psychology is still largely missing from our educational system, even though it desribes exactly what we are and how we function. So I don't understand why we don't learn this at school: It is more important than economics.

This course should be given in the last grade of each highschool.

Keep up the good work professor!

The opportunity to take an online Yale course taught by a knowledgeable and empathetic educator was an experience of a lifetime. My appreciation for both Yale and Coursera is substantial. I learned so much about myself and what true happiness really is for me. The material is excellent, the videos have the feeling of being in class with other students, and completing the course in your own timeframe was very helpful. I plan to take more courses from Coursera. Thank you!

I really enjoyed this course and the strategies it relayed to change our mindset for what it takes to be happy. The various assignments helped us to put these strategies into practice for ourselves. What we get out of it is up to us in sticking with the assignments, even if you start and stop you can try it at any time. The key is to be "intentional" about using these techniques even beyond the course. I would recommend this course to anyone and everyone. Thanks much!

Thoroughly enjoyed this course. Professor Santos has a very engaging and down to earth manner while disseminating academic principles. It is wonderful that Yale is offering siuch a meaningful real-life experience to students. As a society, we ignore the mental wellbeing of young people at our peril. Certainly seems to have given students plenty to think about in terms of planning time for themselves to ensure that they are as physically and mentally healthy as possible.
