[MUSIC] Welcome. We're delighted that you've joined us for arts and culture strategy. We'll be exploring the key areas of concern and opportunity for arts and culture leaders. Reflecting on the value of what you do, and why it matters so much. We'll talk a lot about this value. Why your work has meaning now, how to build organizations for the future that create and continually offer the greatest possible benefit. We'll be looking at business models, at organizational structure, and at a variety of tools and concepts that will make you a stronger and more confidently effective leader. At National Art Strategies we care deeply about strengthening arts and cultural leaders so that you in turn can strengthen your communities and our field. We are particularly delighted to be partnering with the University of Pennsylvania for this program. An institution with a deep commitment to excellence in teaching. You may be on this course because you want to be better at what you're already doing. Or, you may be on this course because you're preparing for the next step in your career. Whatever your reasons for taking part, we're so pleased that you're joining us. And we make this promise. This experience will be rigorous, relevant, and enjoyable. Let's get started. >> I'm Peter Frunkin and I too want to welcome you to this class. For 20 years, I've worked with nonprofit organizations of all kinds and all sizes. In this special class, we're gonna be focusing on your world. The world of art and culture. It's a distinctive part of the nonprofit landscape but we believe that some of the universals related to non profits that are pursuing all kinds of missions are relevant to you. What we try to do is tailor a curriculum and a class for you, that speaks to the world that you know, but that also gives you the best and latest strategy tools drawn from the broader world, and the broader context. I hope that you enjoy the journey that we're going to take together, and that you get a lot out of this class as we explore, how do you run a non-profit organization that's committed to artistic value, in a way that produces maximum social value.
