[MUSIC] Okay, and now tell me your name. >> Abdulaziz. >> Abdulaziz, okay. Abdulaziz, I'd like you to tell Benjamin over here something you don't like and Benjamin, you're going to agree with that. So, go ahead. >> I don't like to wake up in the morning. >> Neither do I. >> Me either. Okay, sell it. Let's get new people here. And we've got, who's Haruna? Haruna. Okay, you're going to tell Haruna something you like, and Haruna, you're going to agree with him. All right? >> I like play soccer. >> Me too. >> Wow, excellent. Okay, good answer. All right, and Taquya. >> Hi. >> Yep, hi. >> [LAUGH] >> And you know, hi means something different in English, right? >> Okay. >> Hi to you too. And so, you're going to. Let's see, Abdullah is right there. Tell Abdullah something you like and Abdullah you're going to agree, okay? >> I like Facebook. >> Me too. >> Really? >> Yes. >> [LAUGH] >> Okay, so I think we've got this down and here we have a little dialogue on page 105, and they're talking about an apartment. Probably not this apartment, okay. But you're going to have a partner and one of you is going to be Katrina. And the other one is going to be Hector. Let's see. Okay, Ubeau you're with Alee. Arthur, you're with, please give me your name again. >> [INAUDIBLE] >> Okay, thank you you two are partners. Abdullah, turn around, your partners. Fatima, you ladies are partners. And let's see. How about being partners with Abdulaziz, please? And. >> [LAUGH] >> Texting? Thank you. Okay, so you two are partners, you're partners, you're partners. Actually, you three are going to be working together. And Benjamin and you're partners, okay? So, take turns, so one person is Katrina, the other person is Hector and then you switch. Okay? So everybody's ready? Go. Okay, so let's have our actors. Katrina, let's have Maria Paz is going to be Katrina. And Abdulaziz, you're going to be Hector, okay? So go ahead, Katrina. >> Do you like this apartment, Hector? >> I do like it. It's quiet, spacious, so there's enough room for all our furniture. >> I agree, and I like the style too. >> What do you like about it? >> It look very modern. >> There is one problem though. There is no balcon. >> True, but if we want to go outside we can go up onto the roof. >> Really, we can go up there? >> Sure, there is a sitting area with tables and comfortable chairs. >> That sounds nice. Do we have to use the stairs? >> No, we can take the elevator Okay, everybody. >> [APPLAUSE] >> Okay, any questions over any of the vocabulary here? No? Okay, so let's look at the words that show agreement. So, do you like it? And he says, I do like it. And what does Katrina say next? >> I agree. >> I agree. Okay, and she tells what? Now, remember when we talked about asking people questions and they give an answer. You make a comment to keep the conversation going, right? And so, when she says I agree, and I like the style too. His comment is what do you like about it? So, he's asking her something, so we can keep talking about this subject, right? What do you like about it? And then, she says well, it looks very modern. And now he's pointing out something different. There is one problem though, there's no balcony. And what did she say to agree with that? >> True. >> True. Okay. But if we want we can go up on the roof. It's kind of an agreement, what does he say? >> Really? >> Really. Yeah, really. Okay and we can go up there and what does she say? >> Sure. >> Sure. Okay, there's a sitting area and here's something that's kind of of an agreement, with did he say? >> That sounds nice >> Good. That sounds nice. Okay, so now we have how to show agreement and we're going to be going over now to page 109. It's a little bit more specific. We've pointed out things that show agreement, and at the very top of the page there's a gray box. Agreeing and disagreeing. Everybody is up here? So, Uzuki, how about reading the grey box for us please? >> [INAUDIBLE] It shows here are some of the short expressions you can use to show that you are >> Okay, and we have up here, I agree. So another one, you're right. You're right. Absolutely, everybody say absolutely. >> Absolutely. >> Definitely. >> Definitely. >> That's true. >> That's true. >> Okay, and we have true up there. So let's look in disagreement. Caliki go ahead >> I agree. >> When we disagree. >> When we disagree with someone it's more important to do it polit. >> Polite. >> Polite expression [INAUDIBLE] for disagreeing >> [INAUDIBLE] >> Okay, Saul how about reading those for us. >> [INAUDIBLE] but they didn't agree, I say what your name? But I think I am surprised, I disagree. >> Right, okay. >> [COUGH] >> So, these are very nice polite statements generally in conversation, we don't hear them. Okay. Let me see here, Alee. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> [COUGH] Let's go eat bacon. >> [INAUDIBLE] >> That's very polite. Do you know what people would usually say, no way, okay? So let's practice that, no way. >> No way. >> Okay, so that's another way of just agreeing. Okay, so here we have another dialogue and you have your partner, all right? So, one of you's going to be Sasha. One of you is going to be Janet and then you're going to switch again. All right? Go. >> [CROSSTALK] >> [CROSSTALK] >> [CROSSTALK] Okay, do you have any questions on any vocabulary? No, no questions. Okay. Now everybody is going to work with your partner, or partners, and each of you is going to receive an apartment. And you have the outside of the apartment, and you have the inside of the apartment. And you're going to talk about what you like about the apartment and you're going to agree about it. And maybe you're also going to say something that you don't like about the apartment. And maybe someone will agree. But you're also going to disagree. So maybe for example, I like the green area, but maybe my partner doesn't. And so my partner is going to say something to disagree with that, right? So I'm going to give each of you one of these, and this. And using the two dialogues that you just did, you're going to make your own dialogue. You're going to talk about what you like, what you dislike. You're going to agree, you're going to disagree, and you're going to use the vocabulary words, okay? So first I'm going to give you the pictures and next I'm going to give you that dialogue that you're going to make with your partner, okay? So let me pass these out. Thank you so much [INAUDIBLE] Okay, each of you, now that you've looked at your picture, you're going to write the dialogue together and each person writes down the dialogue. Not just one person, both people or all three people, right? So, speaker A you might add a speaker C. Okay, so speaker A might say something like, I really like the windows in this apartment. So you might start out with something like that. And then speaker B, maybe you agree, maybe you disagree, and then we're going to have a comment. Remember, you're going to follow it up with a comment. Well, what do you like about it? What don't you like about it? Do you like the color? So you're going to be making this dialogue agreeing, disagreeing and adding comments, okay? Questions? So, lots of talking and now it's so quiet. So you can start out asking the question and then maybe both of them are going to agree or maybe one of them is going to disagree, and then you might make a comment like, why didn't you like it? What do you think about this? No you can start off with that. [INAUDIBLE] So you made a statement [INAUDIBLE] do you like it too? >> [INAUDIBLE] >> Yeah, so you say, I agree. Yeah, and then [INAUDIBLE] [CROSSTALK] Okay so you write down I like this part. And you're going to say. [INAUDIBLE] And you're going to say [INAUDIBLE]. >> He asked me. [CROSSTALK] [INAUDIBLE] >> Good. >> [CROSSTALK] >> Yeah. [CROSSTALK] >> Mm-hm, mm-hm. [INAUDIBLE] >> Yeah, mm-hm. >> [INAUDIBLE] >> Good. >> [CROSSTALK] >> Okay, now you're going to be talking about this. >> Okay. >> And you're going to so would you like don't like about. Just talk about it, and maybe. So it's not just any house, just talk about it. [SOUND] Okay, guys. We are running out of time. Please put the name of your partner on your paper so you remember who you're working with. You'd be surprised how much you forget in 15 minutes. So we're going to walk across the campus and have the second half of our class and pretend it's another day. And so we'll continue working on this when we get to the next. This world is [INAUDIBLE] so we'll see you in 15 minutes over in pain education, all right? >> [CROSSTALK] >> Wow, you guys must like this. Time to go. Woo. >> [LAUGH]
