Okay. Welcome back. That aspect of Meaning. And how do we get Meaning? Okay? We get Meaning by Leadership Behaviors plus Culture. Okay? Creates meaning which drives high employee engagement. And we're gonna talk about Leadership Behaviors today. We're gonna talk about Culture today. We're gonna talk about what trilogy health services did to engage their employees. We're gonna talk about the best practices of hiring, etc. Okay? And the point that I want you thinking about all through this lesson and the next lesson is the following question. Why is someone, or should, someone follow you? Why should someone follow you? Are employees the means to your end? Or are employees the end? See that's the fundamental question. Do you see employees as a means to your end, as a tool, as an instrument? As something to be controlled to your end? Or are your employees an end into themselves, an asset to be developed, to be valued, to be engaged? Okay. As the business grows, you become more and more dependant on others. It's critical to hire the right people. And what's funny is that in order to hire the right people. And we are gonna talk about this in detail in a little bit. You got to really think deeply about what kind of people you want. It's more than skills, it's attitude. Very, very successful CEO named John Brown. He built the Stryker Corporation, he is now retired. He is the only, at that time he retired second CEO in U.S. history, ever to become a billionaire and not be a founder of a company. Okay. And when I was working with John and writing a case about his company, John said, Ed it's pretty simple. My HR policy is simple. There's only two kinds of people in the world. The glass is half full, the glass is half empty. And he says, I want to hire people where the glass is half full. I want a positive attitude. I want people that want to learn. And if you think about what I said in week one, that really, when we got into the aspect of how you have to delegate and manage, an entrepreneur is really a teacher. Teacher. If an entrepreneur is a teacher, what you really want to hire are people that want to learn. Teacher. Want to learn employees. It's critical for an entrepreneur to be a people person with good people skills. The more people you have the more complex it becomes. People skills listening, relating, being able to communicate with people with different backgrounds and different experiences understanding people's strengths and playing to their strengths. Teaching not punishing, being able to have a family environment with high accountability. High standards, the pursuit of excellence, constant improvement. Everyday is game day. We're only as good as our last meal. We're only as good as our last product delivery. We're only as good as our last happy customer. We cannot take anything for granted. And you the leader, you the leader, when you walk in that business, your business, everyday, show time. Okay? Nobody really cares about what happened at home or what's going on in your life. It is show time. It is time for you to lead. And if you can't give it your best every day, some free advice. Okay? Some free advice. This is a mook. Stay home. All right. Success depends on teaching, motivating and relating, on a daily basis engaging in employees and managers in the pursuit of excellence. I mean, I'm sorry, bear with me, but that's a great sentence. All right, Catherine my RA wrote that. That is a great sentence. In it. Success depends on teaching, motivating, and relating. And on a daily basis engaging employees and managers in the pursuit of excellence and high performance. All right, stop a minute. Get that pen and paper out. We've been going about 18 minutes. Write down one or two things keywords you wanna go back and think about when we're through with the lesson today. Real quick, just write a couple of things down. Don't leave. Okay? Don't go to the refrigerator, I'm not going to the refrigerator, I'm right here. One or two things.
