[SOUND] I'd like to introduce you to Edwin Agbenyega. Edwin took this course a few years ago and now he's working in this area. So he can give you his perspective on this course and what it's like to work in this area. So meet Edwin. >> I'm from originally from Ghana in Africa. And my elder brother was studying computer science, and I thought it was cool, because he use to make websites with HTML, and CSS, and I figured I would just try it out. So that's how I got started, and got hooked on it, and then I just played around with web applications a bit and it seemed interesting so that's how I started. That was really good because at the time I was in taking my undergrad in computer engineering, and most of the courses, I felt, were a bit boring. But when I took the Coursera class, it was interesting, because it wasn't as stressful as the other classes. So it was like I was learning something new, without the whole stress of being in class and having to deal with professors directly and teachers because I wasn't really good with that and I didn't really like the whole university thing that much but when I took the course online, it was a bit less stressful and just relaxing. That was just like watching a YouTube video or something, so- >> It gave you a chance to learn at your own pace? >> Yeah, that was good. And most of the lectures were short, they're weren't just long-winded, you would have to sit in the class for two hours straight, but the Coursera course was five minutes, of short sections, so that was good. So I was able to watch it for five minutes, go do something else and then come back and continue from where I stopped, so yeah. So what's interesting is that I took the MOOC course from Dr. Hallman in this university. And at the time I was in South Korea studying my undergrad and he went there for a conference. I don't know what kind of conference, but it was related to the MOOC. So he just posted online that, was there anyone whose career was taking this course? Wanted to meet up with him and I said, yeah i'm here. So we just randomly met up in South Korea and then, he was like, you seem like a nice guy come work for me and that's how I got here. So now I work for Dr. Hallman, I make web applications part time while I'm a grad student, because he got me an assistantship also, so that's really neat and I feel like taking the course sort of was like a gateway for me to do all this. So that's what I'm doing right now. Developing web applications part time for Dr. Hallman.
