Academics overview

With the Bachelor of Science in General Business, you will establish a well-rounded understanding of all key areas of business, including economics, accounting, finance, business analytics, information systems, management, and marketing. 

Program Length

On average, you should anticipate dedicating approximately 18 hours of study per week to each course you are taking. Most courses are taught in 8 week sessions with weekly deadlines to help you stay on track for successful course completion. The courses are asynchronous in mode and allow for independent study as well as group sessions.

You’ll need a minimum of 120 credit hours to earn your Bachelor of Science in General Business from UNT. You’ll undertake 42 core hours, 24 pre-business and professional development hours, 36 advanced business hours, and 18 elective hours to achieve your goal.

When you graduate, you’ll be able to:
